Neal Slavin is an award-winning photographer and film director. He shows in individual and group exhibitions throughout the world and is represented by Ricco Maresca Gallery in New York. He has been honored with a retrospective exhibition at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and has exhibited at Les Rencontres D’Arles in France. He recently had a large solo exhibition at Foto/Industria 2 in Bologna,Italy.

He has photographed for major magazines around the world including The New York Times, The London Sunday Times, Esquire, Frankfurter Algemeine Zeitung, Rolling Stone, LIFE, Geo, and New York Magazine.

He has taught classes and workshops at Les Recontres d’Arles, The Cooper Union, Manhattanville College, School of Visual Arts, The City University of New York at Queens College as well as serving as a visiting artist at the Art Institute of Chicago. He is currently teaching a special combined class for Pace University and the International Center of Photography at his studio in New York City.


A senior non-profit executive, Carrie Welch’s most recent full-time role was in the newly-created position of Chief External Relations Officer at The New York Public Library (2014-2021), overseeing the Development, Communications and Marketing, Revenue and Alliances, and Public Programs departments. During ths period she was also the liason to Frederick Weisman in the making of the motion picture Ex Libris, a documentary bout the New York Public library.

Welch came to the Library from the International Rescue Committee (IRC) (2008 – 2014), where, as the first Senior Vice President for External Relations, she transformed IRC’s funding model, increasing annual revenue by about 200 percent. She also vastly grew the audience for IRC’s work and built a leading and innovative digital presence. She was instrumental in reinvigorating this important institution and its brand.

Before that Ms. Welch served as the Founding Administrator member of the Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD).

Prior to her time at IRC, Welch served as the first Executive Vice President of Global Communications at Lowe and Partners, in charge of internal and external relations. She was also Vice President for Communications at Time Inc. where she helped launch CNNMoney.com and several of their branded conferences, including co-chairing Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit. Welch had a long and varied career at Time, Inc., primarily at TIME and TIME International. She spent several years living in Europe and Asia and travelled extensively.

Welch serves on the board of the Women’s Refugee Commission. She graduated magna cum laude with a BFA from New York University.
