A rare talent who grabs you by the heart and says “Recognize” – Poet Gold is a multifaceted artist who is pushing the boundaries of poetry and the spoken word.
Appointed the 2017 and 2018 NYS Dutchess County Poet Laureate, Poet Gold is the recipient of numerous awards which include the 2022 Dutchess County Empowered Artist Award, the 2016 Dutchess County Executive’s Artivist Award, and the Dutchess County Athena Award honoree.
Poet Gold’s poetry has been exhibited at Woodstock Artists Association Museum (WAAM), CONVEY/ER/OR Gallery in Poughkeepsie, ArtsWestchester, Howland Museum, Hudson Valley MOCA just to name a few. She is a founding member of Inspiration Arts Group International (IAGI) and has served as an online host for virtual exhibitions for both IAGI and the Hammond Museum.
Her collaborative work “Say Their Names” with visual artist, Suprina, co-directed by Paul Thompson was chosen to be the opening film and performance for Questlove’s Oscar winning documentary “Summer of Soul (…Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) as part of NYC SummerStage Juneteenth kickoff presented by Marcus Garvey Park Alliance and New York City Parks.
